The City of Bay City has absolutely reserved
the right and prerogative to reject any or all bids as well as to
waive any irregularities and informalities. The award of the
contract, if it is awarded, will be to a responsible and responsive
Bidder whom the City Commission, in its sole discretion and
judgment, determines will be in the best interest of the City of Bay
City, and which will not exceed the funds available for the project.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR PARK SHELTER
(FURNISH & INSTALL)
The City of Bay City invites interested parties to submit
proposals to furnish and install a covered shelter in Defoe
Park. Sealed proposals will be received at the Purchasing
Department, City Hall, 301 Washington Ave., Bay City, Michigan,
until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at which time
bids will be opened and publicly read aloud in Room 301 of City
Hall, 301 Washington Ave., Bay City, Michigan.
This proposal shall include the cost of furnishing and
installing the shelter complete, including all labor,
equipment and materials required to perform the work as
described herein.
Proposals must include the following:
1. Cost to purchase, assemble and
install a prefabricated hip- roof style shelter to be erected on
an existing concrete slab
as
detailed in this proposal.
2. A minimum of 1 year warranty on equipment, materials
and workmanship.
If your firm has an interest in providing
the services specified, please submit your proposal to the City
of Bay City in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Proposal for
Park Shelter”
The City reserves the right to reject any
and all proposals; to waive any irregularities and to hold all
proposals for a period of Sixty (60) days during which time they
may not be withdrawn.
If your firm has an interest in providing
the services specified, please submit your proposal to the City
of Bay City in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Proposal for
Park Shelter Bid # 09-0917”
Each bid proposal shall be submitted on the proposal forms
provided and shall be accompanied by a certified check,
cashier's check or bid bond, executed by the bidder and Surety
Company, payable to the City of Bay City in the amount of Five
Percent (5%) of the accompanying bid. Proposal Guarantee shall
provide assurance that the bidder will, upon acceptance of the
bid, execute the necessary Contract with the City of Bay City.
No bid may be withdrawn after scheduled closing time for
receiving bids for at least sixty (60) days.
Funding for this project is made available
through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG ) fund. All successful
bidders must comply with federal labor standards including the
Davis-Bacon and Related Acts and the Copeland Anti-Kickback
legislation; federal equal opportunity requirements: section 3
of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 and the
American with Disabilities Act.
The successful bidder will be required to
pay the prevailing wages and fringes for construction mechanics
working on projects in the local vicinity as set forth in
Chapter 2, Article VII of the Bay City Code of Ordinances. The
minimum Labor Wage Rates and Classifications are herein
provided.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum
salaries and wages as set forth in the contract documents must
be paid on this project, and the contractor must ensure that
employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated
against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national
origin.
The successful
bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Performance,
Labor and Material, Maintenance and Guarantee Bonds, and
Insurance policies.
The City of Bay City reserves the right to reject all bids and
to waive irregularities in bidding.
Lead Inspection Services
Sealed proposals will be received by the
City of Bay City at the Purchasing Office, City Hall, 301
Washington Avenue, Bay City, MI, until 2:00 p.m. on
September 17, 2008
All bids will be publicly opened and
read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on September 17, 2008
for the Lead Inspection Services
Bid # 09-0918 all in accordance with the Bidding
Documents, and as otherwise set forth herein.
Environmental Consulting Services
EPA Assessment & Cleanup Grant Funded Projects
The City of Bay City is requesting
proposals from qualified consultants to assist in the
administration and utilization of Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) Cleanup Grant funds and other City funds for the
redevelopment of Brownfield properties in the City of Bay City.
Proposal shall be submitted in an envelope or container clearly
labeled “Proposal for Environmental Consulting Services.” Bid #
09-0903 and delivered to the Purchasing Office, Room 202, 301
Washington Avenue, Bay City, MI 48708 on or before 2:00
P.M., September 3, 2008. Proposals will not be accepted by
telephone or facsimile machine.
