| FIRE ADMINISTRATION DIVISION The Fire Administration provides all fire department divisions and offices with management, clerical, and training support. This division is made up of the Office of the Fire Chief, Office of the Administrative Assistant, and the Office of the Training Officer. Each of these offices is listed individually listed as part of this informational package. |
FIRE CHIEF, FIRE ADMINISTRATION DIVISION Office

The Fire Chief is the department's administrator and reports directly to the city
manager. This office handles financial matters, budget requests, budget compliance, long
range planning, relations with other city, county, and state agencies, personnel matters
including staffing, discipline, and labor relations.
The Fire Chief supervises the Administrative Assistant, Fire Marshal, and the three
Battalion Chiefs assigned to the Fire Fighting Division. |

The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Fire Chief. This office provides clerical and administrative
support to all the department's divisions with the aid of a part-time secretary. The
primary tasks assigned to this office include the upkeep of fire reports, fire prevention
reports, payroll, and personnel records for the members of the department. |

(989) 893-6512 FAX: (989) 892-4920 The Fire Department Training Officer reports directly to the Fire Chief. This office insures that the members of the department receive the training needed to carry out the functions assigned to the department in a safe and effective manner. The needed training is provided inside the department when possible and by outside experts and schools as needed. Fire Company Officers also provide in-service training on a regular basis. The Training Officer maintains the department's training records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
