Detective Bureau

The Detective Bureau investigates cases generated by the Patrol Operations Division, self-generated complaints, as well as investigations received from other law enforcement agencies including federal, state, and local.  Assigned to the bureau is a detective sergeant and three detectives who investigate complaints.

These types of investigations include crimes such as:
  • Arson, with an assigned Fire Marshall
  • Bank robberies
  • Breaking and entering
  • Child pornography
  • Computer crimes
  • Counterfeit money
  • Homicide/Felonious assaults
  • Sexual assaults
  • Home invasions
  • Kidnappings
  • Larcenies of all types

Training

Continuous training to update the skills necessary to investigate these wide ranging and complex types of crimes. One of the new challenges in the last few years have been computer-based crimes including: monetary frauds, child pornography, and counterfeiting.

Our detectives are also trained as firefighters and respond when needed.
