The Identification Bureau is part of the Detective Bureau and assigned to the Support Operations Division. The Identification Bureau consists of two Corporals who are responsible for a wide range of departmental functions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Their duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Crime Scene Investigation
- Collection, processing, and handling of all types of evidence
- Maintaining the Bay City Department of Public Safety Evidence/Property Room
- Transporting evidence for analysis by Michigan State Police (MSP) Crime Labs
- Preserving digital photographs
- Fingerprinting subjects arrested
- Processing impounded vehicles and property
- Delivery of interoffice communications
