Identification Bureau

The Identification Bureau is part of the Detective Bureau and assigned to the Support Operations Division. The Identification Bureau consists of two Corporals who are responsible for a wide range of departmental functions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Their duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Collection, processing, and handling of all types of evidence
  • Maintaining the Bay City Department of Public Safety Evidence/Property Room
  • Transporting evidence for analysis by Michigan State Police (MSP) Crime Labs
  • Preserving digital photographs
  • Fingerprinting subjects arrested
  • Processing impounded vehicles and property
  • Delivery of interoffice communications
