Special Assessments are used to designate a unique charge that are assessed against real estate parcels for certain public purpose. In the City of Bay City, the Special Assessments are for Streets, Sewer and Sidewalks. Special Assessments are not liens placed against a parcel.

​Please note that the interest on a Special Assessment is accrued on a monthly basis and is billed on the first of the month.
