  3. Historic District Commission

    In 2005, to promote the preservation of historic buildings and help protect the heritage of the City's built environment, the City adopted a historic preservation ordinance and formed a Historic District Commission (HDC). The HDC's authority is derived from PA 169 of 1970 as amended. The HDC is empowered to hold public meetings for the purpose of reviewing architectural and design elements for buildings in the Historic District and granting certificates of approval in accordance with the City's Historic Preservation Ordinance, Chapter 64.

    Board of Review will meet with the Assessor to correct mutual mistakes of facts, clerical errors, vote on disabled veteran and poverty exemptions, correct principal residence exemptions and any other business that comes forth. Board of Review is not for public comment but is an open meeting.

  2. Public Informational Meeting - First Street Reconstruction

    July 31, 2018, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Conference Room 317

    First Street will be reconstructed between Washington and Madison Avenues. Work includes new separated sanitary and storm sewers, asphalt pavement, sidewalks and minor watermain work. Currently, the combined sewer is failing and causing pavement issues. This project will correct these conditions. Phase 1 will be the construction at the Washington Avenue/1st Street intersection and should last two weeks. Traffic will be detoured around the intersection. Phase 2 will be will be the reconstruction of 1st Street. Traffic will be detoured to Woodside Avenue, using Washington and Madison Avenues during construction. Washington and Madison Avenues will remain open during Phase 2.
