BAY CITY, MICH., MAY 14, 2020 - Bay City Government resumed building inspections and permitting on May, 7th, 2020. Staff is working limited hours to provide permitting and inspection services to residents and contractors in Bay City. At this time City Hall remains closed to the public based on the COVID-19 Exposure Prevention Plan.
To apply for a building permit please call (989) 894-8162 and leave a voicemail regarding your project.
We are accepting plans and permit applications by mail, or at our external drop box located on the west side of the City Hall building at 301 Washington Avenue. Permit applications and plan reviews will be processed as they come in. Please submit checks made payable the City of Bay City with your permit application. We will contact the applicant to verify and process the permit.
Building permit application forms can be found at www.baycitymi.org under Community Development Department, Building Division, and clicking Building Permits on the left menu.
Inspections may be completed on site, by photo or video verification depending on the project. We ask that you respect the COVID-19 Best Practice Guidelines, including Social Distancing, when the inspector arrives at your home or construction site for your protection and the protection of our employees.
