PUBLIC SAFETY RESPONDS TO ARMED ROBBERY CALL AT 1510 KOSCIUSZKO

JAN. 1, 2021 - BAY CITY, MICH. - On Thursday, December 31, 2020 at approximately 9:26 pm., officers from the Bay City Department of Public Safety responded to the 7-11 store at 1510 Kosciuszko Avenue in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred.  The clerk stated that the suspect was armed with a knife and fled the store with cash and cigarettes.  Within minutes, an officer from the Hampton Township Public Safety Department located the suspect several blocks away.  The stolen items were located on his person and he was taken into custody without incident.  No one was injured during the incident.  The suspect, a 32-year-old Bay City resident, was lodged at the Bay County Jail.   Deputies from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from the Michigan State Police also assisted with the incident.
