City of Bay City to resume normal non-payment policy for all services

MARCH 29, 2021 - BAY CITY, MICH., — The suspension of shutoffs for City of Bay City water customers which was enacted in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic will be changing. 

RESIDENTIAL SERVICES: The City of Bay City will resume notification of utility service disconnections to residential customers for non-payment of water service beginning March 31, 2021. Disconnection for non-payment of water service will begin after April 1, 2021. Residential water service disconnections will no longer be suspended. 

The City of Bay City resumed notification of utility service disconnections for non-payment of commercial electric and water services at the beginning of March 2021.  

Customers who need help managing their bills are encouraged to seek financial assistance by contacting one of the following:

    211 Northeast MI at 1-888-636-4211 or 211

  • Hearing impaired callers call MI-RELAY at 1-800-649-3777

    For state emergency relief, contact your local DHHS office at 1-844-464-3447

Customers may also contact the Utility Customer Service Department at 989-894-8104 to make payment arrangements during business hours of 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Please be aware that the Main Lobby (Suite 106) will be closed from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm for cleaning and staff transitioning.
