[ARCHIVED] 2022 Small Business Relief Grant Program

BAY CITY, MICH. – The City of Bay City announces the 2022 Small Business Relief Grant Program. This grant program focuses on assisting small businesses that have been negatively impacted and continue to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.  

On December 20, 2021, the City of Bay City Commission authorized $300,000 of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to be utilized to create a small business relief grant program to be administered by City of Bay City Economic Development Staff, with assistance from the City of Bay City Fiscal Services Director, Bay Future, Inc., and the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. This program is targeted to help businesses with less than 20 employees with COVID-19 related expenses and allows for grants up to $5,000 for businesses with 1-10 employees, and up to $10,000 for businesses with 11-20 employees. 

Beginning Monday, January 10, 2022, applications will be available in PDF format on the City’s website and in Room 207 at City Hall, 301 Washington Avenue, Bay City, MI 48708. Businesses can either apply online through the City’s website or fill out applications and drop them off at City Hall. The application window opens Monday, January 10, 2022, at 8 a.m. and closes Friday, January 21, 2022, at 5 p.m. Questions may be directed to Sara Dimitroff or Shelli Thurston in Economic Development.
