1. Do I need a permit for a fence and where do I get one?

All city residents need a permit for a fence. Planning and Zoning manage the application process and their office is located in Room 211 at City Hall.

2. What are the restrictions for a pool?

3. When is my trash pickup?

Trash and yard waste schedule is found under Public Works/Streets and Sanitation Department.

4. Where do I get a recycle bin?

The City of Bay City switched over to 96-gallon recycling carts in January 2023. Visit www.BayCityRecycles.org or call 989-894-8312. 

5. Where can I obtain a building permit?

Building permits can be obtained from Building Code, Room 211 of City Hall, 301 Washington Avenue, Bay City.

6. Where can I get a copy of my land survey?

The City of Bay City does not have any legal land surveys. A land survey can be purchased from a land contractor hired by the property owner.
