Sergeant Chris Kieliszewski has been with the Bay City Department of Public Safety (BCDPS) since 2014.  He attended Alpena High School and earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Alpena Community College.  He completed the Police Academy at Northern Michigan University in 2013.  

Sergeant Kieliszewski began working as a police officer for the Bay City Department of Public Safety.  He attended the Bay County Fire Academy 2014 and obtained Firefighter I and II certifications from the State of Michigan.  After completion of the fire academy, he became a public safety officer.  He was promoted to the rank of Corporal Accident Investigator in 2020 and later that same year he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  

During his career, Sergeant Kieliszewski was a Field Training Officer; he has also been an instructor for the department in Firearms and Defensive Tactics.  He is currently part of the department’s Accreditation Team.
